Bob Romeo, CEO of Anaqua discusses about the company’s value proposition, solutions, customer base, and future plans in an interview with the CIO Applications magazine.
Could you share the back story of Anaqua?
Intellectual Property leaders within British American Tobacco and Ford Motor Company faced a crucial issue with their enterprise software solutions. IP leaders found it difficult to manage IP with a mixture of homegrown and commercial systems—that left them unreliable data which elevated expenses and increased the risk factor. But collaboration between them turned the whole concept into a web-based and unified system crafted for intellectual property. Managing the entire cycle of IP—designs, patents, trademarks, contracts, and trade secrets—this turned out to be a comprehensive software platform. That's how Anaqua started its journey to becoming the world's first web-based unified intellectual property platform.
What according to you are some of the challenges in IP space and how is Anaqua addressing such challenges through its solutions?
Most of the challenges in the Intellectual Property space have been observed to be around handling millions of patents. In most cases, they are unable to search through their patents in an organized way and thereby witness increased amount of expenses.
